Host Organisation: Just for Kids Law

Lorin Sulaiman

Lorin completed her undergraduate degree in Law at the University of Westminster and later went on to complete the LPC combined with a Master of Law at the same university.

During her second year at university, Lorin started volunteering with a local law firm which specialised in immigration. There she went on to become an OISC level 1 advisor, helping the community with a variety of cases including spousal applications, family reunions as well as asylum and appeals. Here Lorin was also able to utilise her language skills (Kurdish and Arabic) as majority of the clients were speakers of those languages.

Lorin took a brief break from law and went on to work for the Financial Ombudsman Service as an Adjudicator where she developed new skills allowing her to make unbiased decisions on complaints against banks.

Lorin then went on to work for a corporate law firm, again in immigration, for a number of years. Most recently, Lorin was working for one of the big four accounting firms, in their legal department, assisting their employees obtaining visas to the UK as well as checking compliance and right to work obligations.

Whilst Lorin is passionate about immigration, she is eager to learn new areas of law and feels that she will be as equally passionate in any area of law. Lorin believes that the most important thing is to use law to make a difference in someone’s life.

Lorin joined Just for Kids Law as a Trainee Solicitor and Legal Education Foundation Fellow in March 2020 and is extremely excited about this opportunity.
