Ollie Persey

Host Organisation: Public Law Project

Ollie is training to be a barrister at the Public Law Project.

As an undergraduate, he coordinated his university’s legal aid scheme. During an LLM, he was a school exclusion advocate, a research assistant to a UN Special Rapporteur, and a clinical student at the ACLU.

Before studying for the BPTC, he was a researcher in comparative media law at Oxford University and a commissioning editor of the Justice Gap. Alongside the BPTC, he volunteered as an Appropriate Adult and set up a UK version of Yale’s Rebellious Lawyering Conference (‘RebLaw UK’), a student-run conference that brings together students, activists, and practitioners to discuss how law can be used as a tool for social change.

He is a committee member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers.
