Merseyside Law Centre

Merseyside Law Centre is one of the UK’s newest Law Centres, having been founded in 2016 and opening its doors to clients in early 2017. Whilst the Law Centre is new, it was developed within Merseyside Welfare Rights which, although now sadly closed, was for over 35 years, one of the Northwest’s largest independent advice agencies for over 35 years.

Two of our highly experienced Solicitors transferred across from Merseyside Welfare Rights which allowed the new Law Centre to hit the ground running. We also employ Specialist Welfare Benefit Advisers and offer independent legal advice and representation within the North West areas of Liverpool, Halton and Warrington.

Our main base is located in Liverpool city centre and we have satellite offices in Dovecot and Halton.

The Justice First Fellow

Merseyside Law Centre is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Solicitor to work as part of our team. Working closely with the Supervising Solicitor they will be based in our offices in central Liverpool but will have the opportunity to work across all of the areas in which we offer legal advice and representation.

Trainee solicitors at Merseyside Law Centre (and previously within Merseyside Welfare Rights) have always worked as full members of our team, working with clients and taking responsibility for cases at the earliest practical opportunity.

As part of your training you will undertake a number of seats with an emphasis on housing, debt and welfare benefits. Through our close working partnerships with other agencies we may also offer other areas of social welfare law (for example asylum, immigration or public).
