The main purpose of the role is to assist fee-earners with their caseloads and gain the experience/skills necessary to qualify as a Solicitor and continue a career in Law.
The aim during the 2 years is to provide a high-quality legal service to all our clients under the supervision of our qualified lawyers.
Our firm has two departments: Public Law and Community Care and Civil Actions against the State. During the two-year-old training contract a Trainee Solicitor will work with lawyers in these two different departments on a variety public and private law cases and be involved in all aspects of the conduct of a case.

We are looking for a person with the following experience and skills.
|Good academic record (3 A-levels at A-C or equivalent)||E|
|Law degree or GDL or Level 6 CILEX qualifications (2.1 or merit)||E|
|LPC (or equivalent)||E|
|Experience of undertaking legal work/working in a legal environment||D|
|Experience of working in the areas of law that MG & Co practise||D|
|Experience of working in an office environment and undertaking administrative tasks||E|
|Experience of legal aid procedures||D|
|Experience of time-recording and document management systems||D|
|Experience of working with clients, in particular, clients who may be vulnerable||D|
|Experience of social media and/or publicity and press work||D|
|Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a range of audience.||E|
