Hopkin Murray Beskine is a long established North London firm with clients from across London and beyond, who come to us because of our expertise in family, housing and public law. We have a small but expert team, and we maintain a thriving legal aid practice. We are recommended by the Chambers UK Guide and Legal 500.

We provide a collaborative workplace, where staff are well supported. Trainee solicitors are supervised by experienced lawyers, and have the opportunity to work on a variety of different cases. We have excellent resources including a modern practice management system.

Our housing and public law team carries out a range of interesting work, including judicial review, housing possession and disrepair claims in the County Court, illegal eviction, and homelessness challenges and appeals. Trainee solicitors have a varied role, from advising homeless clients to assisting with claims in the County Court and High Court and preparing cases for the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights. The team consists of four solicitors, a trainee solicitor and a paralegal. Much of our work has national significance, including challenges concerning welfare reform policy, discrimination in housing allocation, breach of right to education, and healthcare duties and policies.

Our family law team deals with care proceedings, domestic violence cases, and international child abduction in the High Court, as well as privately funded work. We also offer mediation and collaborative law. The team includes six solicitors, a trainee solicitor and a paralegal, and both teams are supported by excellent support staff.

Client referrals come from a range of sources including women’s refuges, professionals working with disabled children and their families, organisations working with Irish Travellers, and projects working with refugees and victims of trafficking. We aim to provide a holistic service to our clients, who benefit from wide-ranging expertise across complementary areas of law.

We seek to recruit a diverse workforce and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We are an accredited London Living Wage employer.
