Our work will focus on the needs of clients who cannot access legal help elsewhere.

As well as offering legal advice, GMLC will campaign for the restoration of comprehensive legal aid as an essential part of the welfare state.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Solicitor to work alongside the Supervising Solicitor to make a significant impact in Greater Manchester. The Fellow will be based at 159 Princess Road, Moss Side, Manchester, M14 4RE with occasional outreach work across the ten boroughs.

As a trainee solicitor at GMLC you will be given real responsibility and the chance to gain practical experience; helping you to decide which area of law you want to work in. During your training contract you will undertake a number of training seats, with an emphasis on Housing, Debt and Employment in rotation. The seat rotation will allow you to gain practical experience in three diverse areas of law. The fourth and final seat will most likely be in the department that you, and we, expect you to qualify into.
