Kajal Maisuria

Kajal Maisuria is currently a trainee solicitor at RCJ Advice.

Kajal studied English Literature at Brunel University and completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course and LLM at the University of Law.

Prior to joining RCJ Advice, Kajal worked as a Level Two Immigration and Asylum Accredited Senior Caseworker and family paralegal. Kajal has experience working with vulnerable clients and particularly those who are survivors of domestic abuse. Kajal wishes to continue to assist survivors in defending their rights in the UK and have the support that they need to rebuild their lives.

Project

The aim of this project is to ensure the safety and legal advice needs of women with no recourse to public funds who are not currently protected by the Domestic Abuse Bill 2019-21. The project will hopefully assist in reaching this group of vulnerable women to overcome the barriers that they face in accessing vital assistance.

This could be achieved by building features to the existing RCJ Advice platforms such as FLOWS and CourtNav. Kajal also seeks to develop materials that address the common issues faced by migrant women, in several community languages, to assist both migrant women and frontline organisations nationally.
